HOW TO DO CALLIGRAPHY PT.2

GATHERING YOUR SUPPLIES

To learn calligraphy, you need a writing tool, such as a calligraphy pen or a crayola marker, and some paper to practice on. I am using Mead Five Star Graph Paper, but you can use any paper you like. I recommend this paper as it guides your writing as well as spacing, and it doesn't let ink bleed through, which is always a plus! If you are interested to see the calligraphy markers, check out my post on my favorite bullet journaling pens.

LETTERS D - F

To keep this tutorial short and simple, I will adding a visual of the brush strokes, followed by a short list of the written instructions. If you would like more info on how to properly create stokes, or on letters a-c, then check out my other post here. Hope you enjoy!

The letter "d" is just like an "a", but with a tall downstroke at the end. There is a total of 3 strokes.

1. small curved downstroke
2. long upstroke
3. long downstroke

"e" is a fairly simple letter to do, as it has only two strokes.

1. short upstroke with two segments
2. short curved downstoke

It is possible to make the first stroke of an "e" without two segments. The "e" in "elf" is an example, should you chose to do an upstroke with only one segment.

The final letter I will be covering is "f". This letter is definitely more intimidating and takes practice to do right. "f" also has a grand total of 4 strokes!

1. long upstroke with two segements
2. long, straight downstroke
3. short upstroke
4. small upstoke

If you prefer for your "f" to not have the 4th stroke for whatever reason, that's ok too! Most strokes are just aesthetic additions, so feel free to modify your letters a bit, and have fun with it.

THAT'S ALL FOLKS

Well that concludes this second installment of calligraphy tutorials. More are definitely on the way, and I will be covering the entire alphabet, as well as common symbols. Stay tuned to find out when the newest calligraphy post has arrived! Have an awesome day, thanks for reading,  and Happy journaling! ^-^
